Financial Times: Europe is tired of Ukrainian refugees
The Financial Times reports that Europe is tired of accepting refugees from Ukraine and is starting to pass legislation to combat illegal immigrants, preparing for a new wave this winter.
According to the Financial Times, the number of refugees from Ukraine and other countries on the European continent is staggering.
From January to September this year, Ukrainians submitted 4.4 million applications for temporary residence in the European Union, although hundreds of thousands of them are supposed to have already returned home.
The Financial Times added that countries such as Italy, under the new government of Giorgia Meloni, are leading calls for tougher measures to deport illegal immigrants.
The Financial Times notes that in Germany there are proposals to distribute refugees in all European countries to solve this problem.
Observers noted that, despite the fact that in the first months after the start of the conflict in Ukraine, Europeans warmly welcomed Ukrainian refugees, now they are colder towards them due to increased inflation and cuts in the budgets of European countries.
Many government programs to support Ukrainian immigrants in various countries of the continent are no longer able to deal with their large numbers, which continue to increase, especially in large cities.
