Axios website reported that US Air Force planes headed to Europe on Thursday, in preparation for a possible agreement with Iran.

According to Axios, on Thursday evening, citing informed sources who preferred not to reveal their identities, that the increased military activity is linked to the signing of an agreement with Iran in Geneva in the coming days.

The sources explained that four US military C-17 transport planes left for Europe on Thursday, as part of preparations for US Vice President J D Vance’s visit to Geneva to sign a possible agreement between the United States and Iran.

According to Axios, the agreement aims to extend the current ceasefire for 60 days, open a window for negotiations on the Iranian nuclear program, and immediately reopen the Strait of Hormuz without any transit fees.

This comes after US President Donald Trump claimed in remarks during a telephone campaign rally on Thursday evening that his country had decided to end the war with Iran after Tehran agreed not to possess nuclear weapons.

As Trump said in a post on Thursday: “Based on discussions with Iran, reaching the highest levels of the Iranian leadership and receiving approval, I have decided to cancel the planned strikes and bombing operations against Iran this evening”.
