The Turkish Defense Industries Corporation announced, on Saturday, the success of testing a space research missile developed by the Turkish company Roketsan with local and national expertise.
The foundation said in a statement that the test was conducted in the state of Kırklareli, in the far northwest of the country.
The missile was developed using advanced engineering techniques as part of Türkiye’s efforts to reach space.
It confirmed that all the important subsystems of the missile were developed locally and nationally by Roketsan.
In turn, the head of the foundation, Haluk Görgün, said, in a statement on the same platform, that Türkiye has crossed an important barrier in missile technology.
He added that Türkiye’s space research will gain great momentum thanks to the level of missile technologies that the country has reached.
