Trump: Israel will cease to exist in two years if Harris wins election
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said on Thursday that if he loses the election to Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, Jewish voters will be partly to blame.
Speaking at the Israeli American Council’s National Summit in Washington, the former president lamented his dwindling support among American Jews compared to Harris.
He added that Israel would likely cease to exist within two years if Harris won the election, and Jews would be partly responsible for this outcome because they tend to vote for Democrats.
“If I don’t win this election, and the Jews will have a hand in that if I do because if 40%, I mean 60% of the people vote for the enemy, then in my opinion Israel will cease to exist within two years,” Trump told the crowd.
Trump was referring to a poll that he said showed Harris receiving 60% of the vote among American Jews.
He also expressed dismay that he received less than 30% of the vote among American Jews in the 2016 election, which he won, and the 2020 election, which he lost to President Joe Biden.
Still, it’s not clear which poll the former president was citing, but a recent Pew Research Center poll found that American Jews prefer Harris to Trump, 65% to 34%.
Trump made similar comments at a separate summit in Washington earlier Thursday dedicated to combating anti-Semitism in the United States.
