The US Army is arming the SDF with TOW missiles and anti-aircraft missiles

Sources close to the Syria Democratic Forces (SDF) revealed that the US forces provided them with dozens of TOW missiles and a number of shoulder held anti-aircraft missiles.

The sources said that the Syria Democratic Forces received the new weapons last December.

The US forces trained the SDF fighters to use these missiles before handing over a large shipment of them in batches.

The bulk of these anti-tank and anti-aircraft missiles were transferred to Manbij, Ain al Arab (Kobani) and Tal Rifaat in the northeastern countryside of Aleppo.

This is the first time for the US army to provide such types of weapons to its loyal factions in the SDF, since its entry into the east of the Euphrates.

Information from SDF controlled areas revealed that about 80 SDF fighters received training on these new weapons early last month, under the supervision of US military personnel, in a camp under the control of the SDF and the US forces in the vicinity of the city of Qamishli, in the countryside of al Hasakah Governorate, in the northeast of Syria.
