Israel launched air strikes targeting a residential building west of the Syrian capital on Saturday, while official media reported that Syrian air defenses responded to an Israeli air attack.

The Israeli attack on Saturday targeted a residential building west of the Syrian capital, Damascus.

The Syrian official news agency SANA quoted a Syrian military source as saying that at approximately 1:05 am on Saturday, “the Israeli enemy launched an air attack from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan, targeting a number of points in the Damascus countryside”.

SANA added, “Our air defense media responded to the aggression’s missiles and shot down some of them, and the aggression resulted in some material losses”.

According to sources in Damascus, the Israeli strikes came after an area near a military airport west of Damascus was subjected to a missile attack on Friday, while the Syrian Ministry of Defense said that drones entered Syrian airspace from the direction of the Golan Heights, which is occupied by Israel.

The Mezzeh Military Airport area was targeted, and there are sites belongs to the Lebanese Hezbollah and Iranian militias there.

The Israeli army said in contact with Agence France-Presse, “We don’t comment on reports in foreign media”.
