Thomas Friedman wrote an opinion article in the New York Times, which is reveal the US administration’s strategy for dealing with the escalating tension in the Middle East.

According to Friedman, the new strategy relies on what he called the “Biden Doctrine,” which he hopes will be serious and advanced to face current challenges in the world.

In this context, the first track focuses on resolute dealing with Iran and a military response to its agents in the region.

The second track includes a US diplomatic initiative to recognize a demilitarized Palestinian state in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, on the condition that Palestinian institutions have credibility and security capabilities.

As for the third track, it relates to the formation of a comprehensive security alliance between the Palestinians, Israel, the United States, and Saudi Arabia.

In Friedman’s estimation, the success of this strategy may constitute a major strategic redirection in the region, and he believes that this step may deter Iran militarily and politically by withdrawing the Palestine card from its hands.

The Director of the CIA, William Burns, confirms in an article published by Foreign Affairs magazine that achieving lasting peace, ensuring the security of Israel, and the establishment of a Palestinian state requires serious interaction with the current challenges, and Burns stresses the importance of active US leadership to manage and resolve the problems in the region, with a focus on dealing with Iranian challenges and promoting normalization with Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries.

In conclusion, he stresses that the key to the security of Israel and the region lies in effectively dealing with the Iranian issue, and Burns points out that Iran seeks to take advantage of the current tensions and strengthen its nuclear program and support Russia.
