Scottish Prime Minister, Humza Yousaf, announced on Tuesday that Scotland is ready to provide humanitarian asylum for refugees from the Gaza Strip and provide them with the necessary medical assistance.
Yousaf said, “I call on the UK government to take two urgent measures… First, to immediately begin work on establishing a refugee resettlement plan for the residents of Gaza, and Scotland is ready to become the first country in the United Kingdom to provide security and shelter to those who fell under these terrible attacks”.
The Scottish Prime Minister called for organizing the evacuation of wounded civilians from the Gaza Strip, declaring Scotland’s readiness to play this role and provide its hospitals to provide medical care to the victims.
He pointed out that his brother-in-law works as a doctor in the Gaza Strip, and confirmed to him the great shortage of medicines in hospitals, and for this reason doctors have to make difficult decisions.
