Romney: Trump would win the 2024 Republican nomination if he decides to run for president
Republican Senator Mitt Romney has said that former US President Donald Trump will likely win the Republican presidential nomination if he decides to run again in 2024.
Romney, a Utah senator who is the only Republican to vote to convict Trump in both impeachment trials, expected the former president to continue to play a major role in the Republican Party, according to Bloomberg News.
He said that Trump “has the greatest voice and great influence in my party”.
He continued, “I do not know if he plans to run in 2024 or not, but if he does so, I am sure that he will win the nomination”.
