Poll: Majority of Germans against Israeli war on Gaza
The latest opinion poll by the German ARD Foundation revealed an increase in the anti-Israeli war on the Gaza Strip among Germans.
According to the poll conducted in August, 57% of respondents believe that Israel’s response to the October 7 attacks was exaggerated.
In contrast, only 21% saw the Israeli military operations against Gaza as appropriate.
This percentage represents a marked change from a previous poll conducted by the same institution last March, when 28% saw Israel’s actions as reasonable, while nearly 50% of those surveyed believed that the Israeli response was greatly exaggerated.
The latest poll indicated that more than 68% of respondents believe it’s wrong for Germany to provide military support to Israel, while only 19% support such support.
Moreover, the poll shows that a majority of nearly two-thirds (68%) don’t consider Israeli military operations against Hamas justified when they affect the Palestinian civilian population, while only 18% believe they are justified.
