Demonstrations in Tel Aviv demanding a deal to release the hostages and denouncing Netanyahu’s policy
Thousands of people demonstrated in the streets of Tel Aviv on Saturday, demanding that the Israeli government strike a deal to release hostages held in Gaza.
The demonstrators, including relatives of the hostages, gathered and held up slogans criticizing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his policy in dealing with the war in Gaza and the hostage issue.
Protectors accusing Netanyahu, as he is always sabotaging all efforts to reach for a deal.
Protectors called for reaching a deal, ending the war, and stopping any killings.
Critics accuse the Israeli prime minister of wanting to prolong the war to prolong his rule.
The United States, Egypt and Qatar called in a joint statement on Thursday for Israel and Hamas to resume stalled talks on the war in Gaza next week, on August 15 in Doha or Cairo, saying that all that remains is to work out the details of implementation.
The Israeli, Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper reported that Netanyahu is expected to fail in a ceasefire and exchange deal for his own political reasons, including that the opposition of ministers Bezalel Smotrich and Itamar Ben-Gvir to the deal will lead to their withdrawal from the government and its collapse – so there will apparently be no deal.
