National Security Advisor: Any Congress member who doesn’t support funding for Ukraine is Putin supporter
White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said that every member of Congress who doesn’t support funding for Ukraine is voting for an outcome that makes it easier for Russian President Vladimir Putin to win, and that voting against supporting Ukraine is a vote to improve Putin’s strategic position.
In a press briefing at the White House, Sullivan repeated that the US administration is running out of money and running out of time to support Ukraine.
The White House Budget Office had earlier called on House Speaker Mike Johnson to expedite approval of aid to Kiev.
The White House letter stated, “Without the intervention of Congress, by the end of this year, the funds allocated in the United States to purchase weapons and equipment for Ukraine, as well as to deliver them from warehouses, will run out”.
The Republican opposition, which controls the House of Representatives, linked approval of the additional allocations to the tightening of US border policy.
