Israel Channel 12: A secret US-Arab initiatives for a comprehensive ceasefire in all arenas and Gaza is out of the equation

Behind the scenes, the United States is trying to take an unusual step to spread calm in all arenas at the same time.

According to Israeli Channel 12, Israel isn’t considered part of this step at the present time.

Channel 12 reported, “Israel isn’t yet a part of this proposal, and hasn’t conveyed its position to the United States”.

Channel 12 added, quoting senior Israeli officials, “We’re currently at a point of strength, and the ceasefire will be on our terms – including Hezbollah’s withdrawal to the north of the Litani and the dismantling of all its military complexes in areas near the border”.

According to channel 12, “The proposal comes in conjunction with a message from Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, who contacted mediators and asked if there was a chance during the negotiations to obtain lifelong immunity from Israel… The words seem to be interpreted as an exploration of renewing the negotiations and the extent of the danger to his life at this time”.

In the past few days, senior Israeli officials learned of a discussion taking place between the United States and some Arab countries discussing with Iran a proposal for a comprehensive ceasefire in all arenas.

As for Gaza, according to the channel, its place in this proposal is unknown, given its complexity in terms of Israel’s desire to continue the war there even after the release of Israeli prisoners in an exchange deal.

According to a senior Israeli officials, “We’re currently at a point of strength, and the ceasefire will be on our terms, including Hezbollah’s withdrawal north of the Litani”.

The report concludes that the interesting thing is that besides Hezbollah’s Deputy Secretary-General Naim Qassem, the Iranians are also not talking about linking the different arenas in these contacts.
