Iranian Quds forces end Ends the controversy over reports of his death… General Esmail Qaani appeared publicly addressing the world from Tehran
The commander of the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, General Esmail Qaani, sent a message to the International Conference in Solidarity with Palestinian Children and Youth held in Tehran, thus putting an end to the news circulating about his martyrdom.
Meanwhile, an Iranian official revealed information on Monday about Qaani’s fate after reports speculated that he was in Lebanon following an Israeli raid that targeted one of Hezbollah’s headquarters a few days ago, according to what was reported by the official Iranian IRNA news agency.
The deputy for coordination affairs of the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Brigadier General Iraj Masjedi, said, “The commander of the Quds Force, Major General Esmail Qaani, is in good health and is actively following his work”.
Brigadier General Masjedi added, “We’re often asked about Qaani’s fate… He’s in good health and continues his activities… Some ask us to issue a statement about this… Why should we issue a statement? There is no need for that”.
Media reports speculated that Esmail Qaani had traveled to Lebanon after the assassination of former Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah in an Israeli airstrike.
He hadn’t been heard from for days, and that he was present in the southern suburbs of Beirut during a raid that Israeli sources said targeted Hezbollah leader Hashem Safieddine, Hassan Nasrallah’s potential successor.
