Avigdor Lieberman calls for occupying the Syrian part of Mount Hermon
Avigdor Lieberman, head of the Yisrael Beiteinu party, called for the need to impose strict sanctions on Israel’s enemies, stressing the importance of making them pay for their actions, while proposing military solutions to manage the conflict with countries and armed organizations.
In his speech at theInternational Conference on Combating Terrorism held at Reichman University, Lieberman referred to the failures of October 7, describing them as the most serious event since the founding of the state.
He explained that this failure could have been avoided if the political and security authorities had taken the warnings on the ground seriously.
Lieberman also presented his vision regarding the situation in Syria and Lebanon, stressing the need to establish a new line of defense and maintain military control in some areas to prevent fire on Israel’s northern cities.
“Syria must receive a clear message, whether through the media or through intelligence and diplomatic channels, that if it continues to use its territory as a logistical base for our enemies, we will seize the Syrian part of Mount Hermon and won’t give it up until further notice,” he added.
