The al Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas movement, announced that it succeeded on Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning in replacing their fighters in the Zikim-Ashkelon axis, the Sufa axis, and other axes, and confirmed that the fighters are now engaged in violent clashes in the Sufa area.

In addition, an Israeli report said that Hamas militants possessed detailed maps of the Israeli military bases contained in the area, including the Hatzerim air base.

The Israeli report pointed out that it’s possible that the militants planned to control the Hatzerim base, in southern Israel.

According to Israeli estimates, the number of Hamas militants who infiltrated the Israeli towns around the Gaza Strip reached about 1,500.

Hamas was able to capture an unknown number of Israelis, including soldiers and officers, and return them to the Gaza Strip.

The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Sunday, October 8, that the security cabinet had officially approved the start of the war on the Gaza Strip, in response to the Palestinian Hamas movement’s launch of Operation al Aqsa Flood.

The Israeli army announced the start of Operation Iron Swords, launching strong raids on the Gaza Strip, in addition to clashes with Hamas fighters inside the settlements.

Meanwhile Israeli air raids continues on Gaza, as the Israeli government announced, on Sunday, October 8, that it had announced the state of war.
