The al Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement, announced that its fighters are engaged in violent clashes with the Israeli army penetrating the northwestern Gaza Strip.

The al Qassam Brigades said in a statement, “Our mujahideen are currently engaged in violent clashes with machine-gun and anti-armor weapons with the Zionists occupation forces penetrating northwest Gaza”.

The al Qassam Brigades had confirmed in a previous statement that its fighters confirmed that two tanks of the forces invading northwest Gaza were targeted and caught fire.

For its part, the Israeli army reported that it continued during the past few hours to bomb and kill terrorists in the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli army added in a statement on Sunday, “Israeli army soldiers working near the Erez crossing spotted a number of terrorists emerging from a tunnel opening in the Gaza Strip”.

The statement continued, “The soldiers confronted the terrorists, killed them and wounded them after identifying them”.

The al Qassam Brigades’ announcement of the confrontations came hours after the Israeli army confirmed on Sunday the increase in the number of its forces fighting inside the Gaza Strip.

In this context, the Israeli Channel 12 correspondent said that “Hamas fighters emerged from a tunnel in the northern Gaza Strip and attacked Israeli soldiers”.

At the same time, Hamas announced the targeting of Tel Aviv in response to the Israeli massacres against civilians, and also the bombing of the Israeli forces in the Nahal Oz kibbutz with a number of mortar shells, and the bombing of the Ra’im military base with a missile salvo.

The Israeli media reported the sound of sirens in Gush Dan, Tel Aviv, Gush Hasharon and Hashvila, referring to reports of a missile landing in HaSharon.

Meanwhile, the al Quds Brigades – the military wing of the Islamic Jihad movement, targeted Israeli army vehicles penetrating into the far northwest of the Gaza Strip with a missile barrage and heavy-caliber mortar shells.
