Former Iranian President: The person who was at the head of the unit we created for Israel turned out to be a Mossad agent
As the fallout from Israel’s assassination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah continues, a shocking claim has come from former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
Speaking about allegations of espionage in the country, Ahmadinejad said, “We established a unit to confront Israel, and the person leading it turned out to be a Mossad agent”.
Ahmadinejad claimed that Israel had planted a Mossad agent in an Iranian institution.
The former Iranian president’s statements are in line with a series of operations and assassinations that Iran has witnessed, whether inside the country or in other regions such as Syria, by intelligence or military operations launched by Israel during recent months, which resulted in the killing of a number of high-ranking Iranian officers and figures, as well as the assassination of the head of the political bureau of the Hamas movement, Ismail Haniyeh, in the Iranian capital, Tehran.
