Anadolu agency: Iranian militias confiscate 73 homes in two Syrian cities
Iranian terrorist groups continued to confiscate homes in their areas of control in the Deir al Zour governorate in eastern Syria, where, within a month, they seized 73 homes in the cities of al Bukamal and al Mayadeen, and transferred their ownership to their members, according to local sources.
The sources, requesting that their names not be published for security reasons, told Anadolu news Agency that the “Iranian Revolutionary Guard” (which supports the Syrian regime forces) confiscated more than 60 houses in the different neighborhoods of al Bukamal in the countryside of Deir al Zour.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard has transformed some of these homes into military headquarters, and the other is to house the families of its members and leaders, to shelter from the air strikes carried out by Israel and the United States against them.
Anadolu news Agency explained that these houses belong to Syrian civilians living in the Arab Gulf states and European countries, or to members of the Syrian National Army, which opposes the Syrian president Bashar al Assad.
The sources also reported that the Afghan “Fatemiyoun” Brigade had seized 13 houses in the city of “al Mayadin” in the countryside of Deir al Zour.
Anadolu news Agency added that these houses are inhabited by relatives of their original owners or their acquaintances and friends, and some of them have not been inhabited since the regime forces and Iranian militias took control of them, in late 2017.
The “Fatemiyoun” Brigade gave these families 15 days before their eviction to present a regular lease contract between them and the owner or to authorize the disposal of these properties, but the families were not able to secure this, because the original homeowners were unable to return and conclude the necessary contracts.
The sources added that these groups transferred the ownership of the houses that they confiscated to people loyal to them or their local members at the beginning, then transferred the ownership to foreign elements who obtained Syrian nationality by decisions of the regime.
The areas of the Syrian regime in Deir al Zour and the Al Bukamal region (east) are witnessing a heavy presence of groups affiliated with Tehran, which are administered by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.
These groups control and manage the areas in which they are located without referring to the Syrian regime.
During the past years, the Syrian regime granted citizenship to a large number of members of groups affiliated with Iran, in exchange for their participation in the war it has waged against the opposition since 2011.
