In 2020, when Biden chose Kamala Harris as his vice president, he called her a fearless fighter for the little man in reference to her support for marginalized or vulnerable communities in America.

She was then the first woman to serve as vice president in the country and the first person of color to hold that position.

Now Harris is back in the world as the first Democratic Party candidate to win the presidential election against Trump.

Kamala Harris was born on October 20, 1964, in Oakland, California.

Her father is an economist, and her mother is a cancer specialist, who came to the United States and were deeply involved in human rights activism, she said in an interview.

Her parents divorced when Harris was about five.

Her mother, who died in 2009, raised her with her only sister, Maya, who is her younger.

Harris received her bachelor’s degree from Howard University, a historic black university in Washington.

She is a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Alumni Club, the oldest African-American alumni club.

She studied law at the University of California, Hastings College, became a plaintiff and served as San Francisco’s attorney general for two terms.

She was elected California’s attorney general in 2010 and re-elected in 2014, and that same year she married Douglas Emhoff, a lawyer with two sons from a previous marriage.

In 2016, Harris won her seat in the US Senate after being twice elected attorney general of California.

As a candidate for the Senate, she emphasized her battles with big banks during the mortgage crisis, for-profit colleges that were exploiting students financially and environmental violations.

For years, she has spoken about recidivism and criminal justice reform, pushing for a different approach to nonviolent crime that focuses on rehabilitation rather than severe punishment that suits everyone.

Harris calls this approach intelligence in dealing with crime, and she was known for the rigorous questioning style she gained from her work as prosecutor, particularly during the confirmation hearing of Justice Brett Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court.

In light of Trump’s extreme performance towards immigrants and black people in America, Harris, with her history and upbringing, is the most appropriate spearhead that can win the votes of immigrants who are afraid of Trump’s performance towards them if he wins the presidential election.
