The official Israeli Broadcasting Corporation said, on Tuesday, that Qatar is witnessing discussions to conclude a new agreement for a long-term truce that includes the release of all detainees in Gaza, including soldiers, and Israel’s release of Palestinian prisoners.

Discussions are taking place in the Qatari capital, Doha, between the heads of the Israeli Mossad, David Barnea, the CIA, William Burns, the Egyptian intelligence, Abbas Kamel, and the Qatari Prime Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman al Thani.

The agreement being discussed includes the release of all abductees in Gaza, including men and soldiers.

In return, Israel extensively releases Palestinian security prisoners, including those convicted of killing Israelis.

Hamas movement expressed its approval of the broad outlines of the new agreement, but said it wanted a complete ceasefire, which Israel has rejected until now, while the movement has not officially commented on the issue.

The head of the Mossad informed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of the details of the new agreement being discussed in Doha, according to the same source.

With Qatari-Egyptian-US mediation, a four-day humanitarian truce began on November 24, and it was announced on Monday evening that it would be extended for an additional two days.

Among its provisions were a temporary ceasefire, an exchange of prisoners, and the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, where about 2.3 million Palestinians live.

They were affected by a devastating war waged by Israel since last October 7.
