US President Joe Biden called for a two-state solution between the Palestinians and Israelis, which the United States has long called for.

Biden said that the United States won’t hesitate to work until the Israeli-Palestinian two-state solution is achieved.

Biden wrote on X, “The two-state solution is the only way to guarantee long-term security for the Israeli and Palestinian peoples”.

Biden added, in his post, “In order to ensure that Israelis and Palestinians alike live in equal freedom and dignity, we will not give up working to achieve this goal”.

Biden’s statement came in parallel with a US official’s announcement, on Monday, that Secretary of State Antony Blinken will travel this week to Israel, the West Bank, and the UAE.

The US State Department official added, “Blinken will discuss with partners in the region the principles he laid out in Tokyo for the future of Gaza and the need to establish an independent Palestinian state… He will continue efforts to prevent the spread of the conflict and will also attend the activities of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28)”.

The State Department official added that Blinken will stress, in his meetings in the Middle East, the necessity of maintaining the increasing flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza, securing the release of all hostages, and improving protection for civilians in Gaza.
