Türkiye: Preparation underway for the historic visit of the Turkish President to Damascus

According to the Turkish official Türkiye newspaper, who quoted Syrian sources, saying the Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan is preparing to visit Syria in the coming few days.

Erdogan’s historic visit to Damascus might be taken place within the next two weeks, as he may meet Ahmad al Sharaa.

Türkiye newspaper explained that Erdogan’s possible visit schedule may include performing prayers at the Umayyad Mosque, and a meeting with the leader of Hay’at Tahrir al Sham, Ahmad al Sharaa (al Julani).

In the same context, she pointed out that a joint team from the State Airports Authority and Turkish Airlines arrived in Damascus on Thursday to conduct expertise and checks on aviation safety at Damascus and Aleppo International Airports.
