The New York Times: A famous brand suspends its activities in Europe due to the gas crisis
The New York Times reported that one of the largest manufacturers of glass products in Europe, ARC International, will stop the work of its factories in Europe and will send about 1,500 employees on vacation.
According to The New York Times, the glass factory will send about a third of its employees to leave out of a cadre of 4,500 employees.
“This is the most dramatic situation we have ever faced,” said Nicholas Hodler, the company’s president… For a company that depends heavily on energy, this is catastrophic high gas prices”.
The newspaper pointed out that ARC International isn’t the only European company facing the problem of high energy prices, which are forcing companies to reduce production and send tens of thousands of workers on vacation.
In addition to glass producers, the shortage of Russian gas has affected companies active in the field of mining, so that the crisis could affect companies specialized in the manufacture of toilet paper.
