The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky pledged to intensify efforts to restore the territories occupied by Russia in the south of the country.

During a visit to the port city of Odessa, he said in a video message: “Together, we will win… The Ukrainian coasts will never tolerate these occupiers”.

He added, “It is certain that the enemy will not dictate its terms in the Black Sea”.

“The occupiers will be anxious about approaching our Crimea and our coast on the Sea of Azov,” he said.

Russia seized Crimea in 2014, but it is internationally recognized as Ukrainian territory, while cities on the Sea of Azov have been invaded by Russian forces over the course of the 16-month-old war.

Zelensky visited military leaders in Odessa and wounded soldiers in hospital.
