The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said during a visit to Kherson that Ukraine was “ready for peace”.

Zelensky was quoted as saying, “We’re ready for peace, but for our peace, for our country… This is all of our country, all of our lands”.

Earlier, Western and Ukrainian media reported that Vladimir Zelensky had arrived in Kherson.

On the other hand, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov didn’t comment on the news of Zelensky’s arrival in Kherson, but indicated that this is Russian territory.

On Saturday, Zelensky’s office announced the start of work for the Kyiv authorities in Kherson.

Later, a representative of the administration appointed from Kyiv announced a curfew in Kherson from 17.00 to 08.00 and plans to restrict entry and exit from the city.

In mid-October, the Russian authorities decided to resettle the residents of four municipalities on the right bank of the Dnieper deep into the Kherson region and other Russian regions due to the constant Ukrainian bombing, and the risk of flooding in the event of an attack on the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric dam.

Sergey Surovikin, commander of the United Forces Group, noted that the situation in Kherson had become dangerous for civilian life.

At the beginning of November, 115,000 people were evacuated from the Right Bank, and Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu agreed to start transferring troops to the Left Bank and organize a line of defense for the Russian Armed Forces along the line of the Dnieper River.
