Yedioth Ahronoth: Details of the US National Security Advisor visit to Israel
White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan is visiting Israel to discuss several issues, including the stalled exchange deal negotiations, Israeli media reported.
Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper explained that Sullivan will ask the occupation to return Qatar to be a central player in these talks, after Israel shifted the center of gravity to Cairo.
Sullivan is expected to appeal to the occupation not to delay the transfer of tax funds to the Palestinian Authority, a step taken by Israel in protest against Palestinian moves, to issue arrest warrants at the International Criminal Court in The Hague and before the United Nations to raise the level of escalation.
In addition, the occupation is expected to be asked to agree to allow the integration of the Palestinian Authority into the reconstruction of the Strip, to allow the Saudis and Emiratis to join the cart.
Another issue expected to be raised during Biden’s senior adviser’s visit is the issue of arms delays, which has raised tensions between Washington and the occupation to a new level.
The Israeli newspaper pointed out that the occupation circles are circulating that the United States is aware that it was wrong in this regard, and is looking for a way to get off the tree.
One option is to provide us with weapons, while pledging that they won’t be used by heavy bombs in Rafah.
Slovan’s visit to Israel comes after War Cabinet member Benny Gantz said, “no vital decisions have been taken after a small minority took control of Israel’s ship and led it towards a deep abyss, and that there is a small minority that has controlled Israel’s leadership, leading it into the unknown, and that the government coalition that we entered with Netanyahu there was strong unity, but in the recent period there is confusion”.
“Those who control Israel are currently acting cowardly, and part of the politicians think only of themselves,” he said.
Netanyahu has until the eighth of next June to change his behavior and plans towards the war in Gaza.
