Yedioth Ahronot newspaper published on Wednesday followed the prisoner exchange deal that Israel agreed upon with Hamas.

Yedioth Ahronot, in article entitled “All of Israel is a hostage in Gaza, where the author says that Whoever says that the defeat of Hamas must precede the signing of a deal while being aware that this will require an entire year is tampering with the fate of the hostages.

The dozens of hostages or more won’t survive until that time, or will be killed when the Israeli army approaches their place. Israel may win in Gaza, but it will also lose.

Decades from now, we will look back and realize that we sacrificed the hostages.

We will be haunted by feelings of guilt and failure.

The fate of the hostages will shape our characters more than the scars of the massacre, and we will see their faces at every crossroads.

We will try to convince ourselves that we had no choice, but that is a lie.

We hold their fates in our hands, and there are those among us who consider them dead, but they are alive,” according to the article.

From a moral and even military point of view, Israel had to declare that the goal of the war was humanitarian, which was to return civilian hostages to their homes, and it was above any other goal.

The author of the article believes that Israel would have benefited from international pressure to release the hostages, because the international community wouldn’t argue with Israel over the issue of rescuing the hostages.

The article concluded by accusing the Israeli government of treating the families of the hostages with terrible neglect, and some will accuse the families of the hostages of being enemies of the people.

To say that, all of Israel is a hostage in Gaza, and until they return to us, the house won’t return to what it was.

If we abandon them, Hamas will have won and changed us forever.
