Recorded observers who witnessed the debate between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump said the latter performed better.

According to the CNN poll, the percentage of observers who indicated that Trump performed better was about 67% compared to 33% who said that Biden performed better.

The poll results reflect debate views only among those voters who followed the views of the full electorate and do not represent them in their demographics, political preferences or the level of attention they attach to politics.

The results represent a shift from 2020, when debate observers saw Biden outperform Trump in their presidential debates.

CNN said that a majority of 57% of debate observers said they have no real confidence in Biden’s ability to lead the country, compared to 44% who said they have no real confidence in Trump’s ability to do so.

These figures have not actually changed from the poll conducted before the debate, where 55% of these voters said they don’t trust Biden, while 47% said they do not trust Trump.

None of the candidates scored high on this scale, but while only 36% of debate observers now said they had great confidence in Trump’s ability to lead the country, only 14% said the same about Biden.

The CNN poll was conducted via text message with 565 registered American voters who said they watched the debate on Thursday, and the results represent only the views of debate observers.
