Washington investigates leaked documents reveals Israel’s plan to strike Iran
In recent hours, serious leaks have spread about Israeli plans to strike Iranian sites in response to the Iranian missile attack that took place earlier this month.
In response to these leaks, US officials confirmed that Washington has opened an investigation to find out the source of these secret documents.
Three US officials said the investigation aims to determine how the plans were leaked, while a fourth official confirmed that the documents appear to be authentic.
Another US official added that the investigation will include examining how the documents were obtained, and whether they were leaked intentionally by a member of the US intelligence community or through a hack or piracy.
The investigation also includes examining any potential breaches of other intelligence information.
As part of this, it will determine who had access to the documents before they were published.
The leaked documents, attributed to the CIA and the National Security Agency, indicate that Israel continues to move its military forces in cooperation with its partners in the “Five Eyes” alliance – the United States, Britain, Canada, New Zealand and Australia.
These documents were published via Telegram accounts and were circulated by networks such as CNN and Axios website.
These leaks come at a sensitive time amid rising tensions in the Middle East and the possibility of a regional conflict erupting between Israel and Iran, especially with the continuation of Israeli military operations in Gaza and Lebanon.
