Washington calls on Damascus and Moscow to monitor the ceasefire lines in Syria
The US Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Richard Mills, on Wednesday, called on Moscow and Damascus to monitor the ceasefire lines in Syria.
“A peaceful solution to the conflict in the Syrian Arab Republic begins with observance of the ceasefire throughout the country,” Mills said during a meeting of the UN Security Council.
He added, “We call on the Assad regime and Russia once again to abide by the existing ceasefire lines”.
Five years ago, on September 30, 2015, Russia entered the front line in Syria.
On that day, Russia extended a helping hand to the Syrian government after armed organizations managed to control large areas in Syria.
A report written by US analysts and submitted to Congress stated that Syria had defeated “terrorism” with Russia’s help.
