The US Central Command (CENTCOM) on Wednesday announced airstrikes targeting fortified Iranian missile sites along the Iranian coast near the Strait of Hormuz using fortified munitions.

The US Central Command (CENTCOM), on its account on X, said that hours ago, US forces carried out strikes against fortified Iranian missile sites located on the Iranian coast along the Strait of Hormuz, using several fortification-piercing munitions, each weighing 5,000 pounds.

The targeted sites included Iranian anti-ship cruise missiles, it said, noting that these missiles posed a threat to international shipping and navigation in the strait.

These strikes come within the framework of the war waged by the United States and Israel against Iran since February 28, which has killed hundreds of people, led by Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, Basij chief Gholamreza Soleimani and Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani, while Tehran responds by firing missiles and drones towards Israel.

Iran is also targeting what it describes as US interests in Arab countries, causing deaths and injuries and damage to civilian objects, which the targeted countries condemned.
