US cargo plane loaded with weapons and equipment for Israel lands at the Navatim military base and USS Gerald Ford aircraft carrier arrived to eastern Mediterranean
A US cargo plane carrying weapons and equipment to Israel landed at the Navatim military base.
This came after US President Joe Biden announced that the United States would provide Israel with military systems, including ammunition and interceptor missiles, to replenish the stock of missiles for the Israeli Iron Dome air defense system.
The Israeli army announced on Tuesday night the arrival of the first cargo plane carrying US ammunition to Israel.
The Israeli army concluded its statement by saying, “Our common enemies know that cooperation between our two armies is stronger than ever and is a central part of ensuring regional security and stability”.
The US aircraft carrier USS Gerald Ford arrived in the eastern Mediterranean, while the war between the Israelis and the Palestinians entered its fourth day.

The US military said in a statement, “The aircraft carrier Gerald Ford arrived in the eastern Mediterranean to deter any side seeking to escalate the situation or expand the conflict zone”.
In a related context, the Wall Street Journal reported that the United States may deploy a second aircraft carrier near Israel, noting that this comes amid an escalation of the US military’s efforts to deter any regional powers from joining the war between Hamas and Israel.
The Wall Street Journal said that the aircraft carrier USS Dwight Eisenhower and its accompanying ships are expected to arrive in the Middle East within two weeks.
The Pentagon previously announced on Sunday that the United States was sending an aircraft carrier and other warships to the eastern Mediterranean in response to the large-scale Hamas attack on Israel.
For his part, US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said that the US aircraft carrier that was sent to the Middle East must prevent third parties from expanding the escalation around Israel.
Sullivan told reporters, “We’re sending an aircraft carrier there not for the sake of Hamas, but to send a clear message of deterrence to third countries or non-state actors that may want to expand the escalation”.
According to the Wall Street Journal, who cited sources in the Pentagon, reported that the United States is studying the possibility of sending a second aircraft carrier to the coast of Israel.
