UNICEF: Everyone is hungry in Gaza and children are suffering the most
The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) confirmed on Monday that all Palestinians in the Gaza Strip are hungry, but children are suffering the most.
“Everyone is hungry in Gaza, but children are suffering the most… As of July 25, 83 children have reportedly died from malnutrition,” UNICEF said in a post on X.
“Instead of going to school, boys and girls are risking their lives in the hope of getting some food,” the UNICEF added.
The post stressed that sufficient quantities of aid must now be allowed in.
According to the latest figures Gaza, the death toll from famine and malnutrition has reached 133 Palestinians, including 87 children.
On Sunday, the Israeli military announced it had authorized limited airdrops of humanitarian aid to Gaza and had begun what it called a tactical suspension of military activity in specific areas of Gaza to allow aid to pass through.
International organizations considered Israel’s move to be promoting the illusion of aid, while its army continues to use starvation as a weapon against Palestinian civilians, by continuing to close the crossings to aid since last March.
