Ukrainian Foreign Minister: Putin failed to achieve his strategic goals and we don’t want to listen to their historical lessons!
Russian President Vladimir Putin has failed to achieve any of his strategic goals in the war, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said on Friday.
This came during his participation in a session entitled: “Security Guarantees for Ukraine”, as part of the activities of the 62nd edition of the Munich Security Conference.
Sybiha stressed the need for Putin to accept the fact that he will not achieve any of his military objectives in Ukraine.
He recalled that the third round of trilateral talks between Russia, the United States and Ukraine to end the war is expected to be held in the Swiss city of Geneva on February 17 and 18.
“We don’t want to hear historical lessons from the Russian side in these meetings, it’s time to take clear and decisive steps, and we are waiting for concrete results,” he added.
Regarding the 20-point peace plan proposed by the US side, Sybiha revealed that there is a great consensus, as the dispute with Washington is limited to only three items.
The Ukrainian foreign minister continued: “Of course, there will be no peace agreement at the expense of our territorial integrity and sovereignty”.
Earlier on Friday, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the third round of negotiations with Ukraine and the United States will be held in Geneva on February 17 and 18.
The first and second rounds between the three countries were held in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi on January 23 and 24 and February 4-5, with the aim of discussing reaching a peace agreement to end the war between Russia and Ukraine.
