Türkiye: The trade boycott Israel still only a political decision
According to sources close to the Turkish government, the recent decision of the Ministry of Trade to prevent all types of export and import to Israel is still in the legal sense just a political decision, as its still not accompanied by documents and minutes required to determine the details of Türkiye’s decision to stop all types of trade relations with Israel.
It seems that the Israeli arguments of international legal violations implicated the Turkish side with its decision are what prompted the Turkish authorities to show some bureaucratic and legal caution in implementing a decision that was declared politically but hasn’t yet been communicated in terms of its details to the Turkish bureaucratic authorities.
The Turkish decision to close trade didn’t appear to include previous contracts and didn’t include details in the lists of goods and products of the export freeze, and the affected companies on the Turkish side began to complain about possible losses and sanctions if they didn’t comply with previously signed contracts with Israeli companies.
