Türkiye and Senegal sign several agreements and memoranda of understanding

Türkiye and Senegal signed 5 agreements in Ankara, in the presence of the two countries’ presidents, Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Bassirou Diomaye Afai, who began a two-day visit to Türkiye on Thursday.

The two presidents signed a protocol establishing the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council between Türkiye and Senegal.

According to the Senegalese presidency, Bassirou Diomaye Afai said that the two countries seek to double the volume of their trade exchange from $500,000 to $1 billion.

On the occasion of the visit, officials from the two countries signed memoranda of understanding on cooperation in the fields of construction, energy and fuels, as well as in the field of agricultural mechanization, in addition to cooperation in the field of higher education.

The Senegalese President arrived in Türkiye from Saudi Arabia, where he participated in the Future Investment Initiative Forum, and held talks with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, during which they reviewed bilateral relations and opportunities for joint cooperation in various fields.
