Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls on its citizens in Europe and the US to be vigilant

The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on its nationals in European countries and the United States and those wishing to travel to them to take precautionary measures against the background of the escalation of attacks of a xenophobic, racist and fanatical nature.

In a statement, the Turkish Foreign Ministry confirmed it’s monitoring of the escalation of Islamophobia, xenophobia and incidents of a racist nature, as well as demonstrations by pro-terrorist groups targeting Türkiye in some European countries, namely Germany, Belgium, France, Spain, Sweden and Italy.

The Foreign Ministry considered that the recent events reflect the serious level of religious intolerance and hatred in Europe, and that racist currents in Europe have reached alarming levels.

And it called on its citizens in European countries and their citizens wishing to travel, to take all measures, stay away from the areas of demonstrations, communicate with the local security authorities, and exercise restraint in the face of any possible attack of a racist and xenophobic nature.

Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on them to follow up on the statements and warnings that Turkish embassies and consulates will announce in European capitals and cities.

In another statement, the State Department mentioned the monitoring of verbal and physical attacks of a racist and xenophobic nature after the demonstrations that took place across the United States, after a person named Tyre Nichols was subjected to police violence and his subsequent death.

And it called on its citizens in the United States and its citizens wishing to travel to it, to take the necessary measures, to stay away from the areas of demonstrations, to communicate with the local security authorities, and to exercise restraint in the face of any possible racist and xenophobic attack.

It also called on them to follow up on subsequent statements and warnings issued by the US security, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, its embassies in Washington, and its consulates in the US states.
