Turkish Defense Minister: We respect Syria’s territorial integrity and Ankara’s goal is fighting terrorism
The Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar affirmed that his country respects the territorial integrity of Syria, indicating that “Ankara’s goal is to fight terrorism”.
In his first statement after meeting his Syrian counterpart, Ali Mahmoud Abbas, in Moscow, Akar stressed that “Ankara respects the territorial integrity of Syria, and its goal is to fight terrorism only”.
Hulusi Akar noted that “through the efforts that will be made in the coming days, serious contributions can be made to bring peace and stability to the region”.
Regarding the tripartite meeting in Moscow, Akar stated, “We emphasized the necessity of resolving the Syrian crisis, including all parties, in accordance with UN Resolution 2254,” considering that “the meeting in Moscow can seriously contribute to stability in Syria”.
