The Ukrainian Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov announced, on Wednesday, his country’s intention to develop combat drones in 2023.
Fedorov said, in an exclusive interview with the Associated Press, that his country will receive, at the beginning of next year, new models of combat drones with the ability to shoot down other drones in the air.
He added, “I can say that the situation with regard to the marches will change radically in February or March” of next year.
Fedorov indicated that his country bought about 1,400 drones to carry out reconnaissance work, and the next stage includes obtaining combat drones.
Fedorov explained that the combat drones include explosive drones and others capable of flying for a distance of between three and ten kilometers, and hitting targets.
Fedorov said the fighter parades would be developed within Ukraine, without giving further details.
Earlier, a Ukrainian official announced that Russia launched 127 Iranian-made “Shahid” drones to attack Ukraine last November and this December.
