Trump: Zelensky’s participation in negotiations with Russia to end the war in Ukraine isn’t very important!
US President Donald Trump said that he does not believe that there is much importance in the participation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in the negotiations between the United States and Russia to end the war in Ukraine.
In statements to Fox News Radio on Friday, Trump confirmed that the negotiations that began in Saudi Arabia to end the war will continue in the coming days, and that his administration will reach an agreement with Russia at some point.
Regarding the reason for not inviting Zelensky to the negotiations in Riyadh, Trump pointed out that US Treasury Secretary Scott Besant went to Kiev, but held fruitless talks there, and regretted that.
“I don’t think Zelensky’s participation in the negotiations is of great importance, and when Zelensky said he wasn’t invited to the meeting, it wasn’t a priority because he has performed very poorly in the negotiations so far,” he added.
Trump pointed out that Zelensky could have done a lot to stop the war that has been going on for 3 years, but he did nothing.
He expressed his belief that Russia wasn’t responsible for starting the war.
The Russian-Ukrainian war is witnessing a shift in the US position after Trump arrived at the White House.
