Trump thanks Iran for the release of Michael White and says this “shows that an agreement is possible”
US President Donald Trump on Thursday thanked Iran for the release of former Marine Coroner Michael White, who was holding it, saying that this release shows the possibility of concluding an agreement between the two archenemies.
“Thank you, Iran, this shows that a deal is possible,” Trump Twitted.
Trump revealed that he had a telephone conversation with White, who left Tehran on a plane Thursday after holding him for two years in the Islamic Republic.
The United States, for its part, released two Iranians held in detention this week.
