US President Donald Trump said the United States destroyed Iran’s nuclear sites during a 12-day war that he described as intense, noting that every missile fired during the operation hit its target accurately.

In an interview with Fox News, Trump stressed that if he were in power, he wouldn’t have allowed Iran to enrich uranium, explaining that Tehran was only weeks away from possessing a nuclear weapon.

He added, “What we did in Iran was fantastic,” noting that Israel, in turn, succeeded in inflicting significant damage on Iranian nuclear facilities.

Trump criticized the leak of intelligence related to the strikes carried out against Iran, stressing the need to prosecute those responsible.

On regional issues, the former US president addressed Syria, explaining that he had lifted sanctions on it, but linked their full lifting to achieving peace.

He said, “I don’t know if Syria will sign a normalization agreement with Israel, but if it succeeds in achieving peace, I’ll lift the sanctions, and that will make a difference”.

Regarding trade relations, Trump said that China would pay a lot of tariffs, and that his country was forced to address the trade deficit.

He indicated that there was a good agreement with Beijing, and that additional trade agreements were likely to be reached before next August.
