Trump: Greenland will be 100% American!

US President Donald Trump expressed his complete confidence in the success of his plan to acquire Greenland, stressing that this could be achieved without the use of military force, but he didn’t rule out any option to achieve this goal.

In an interview with NBC on Saturday, Trump explained that he had had serious talks about annexing Greenland, and when asked about the chances of success of his efforts, he replied, “We’ll get Greenland 100%”.

Trump added, “There is a strong possibility that we can achieve this without resorting to military force, but I am not ruling out any option”.

As for the message Washington might send to the world, particularly Russia, through this move, the US president confirmed that he isn’t considering that, adding, “Greenland is a completely different matter… It’s about global peace, security, and power”.

Trump’s remarks come a day after his vice president, J.D. Vance, visited Greenland with his wife, a controversial move amid growing US interest in the island.

While at the US Space Force’s Petofik Space Base on Greenland’s northwest coast, Vance said, “Our message to Denmark is clear and simple: You have not done enough for the people of Greenland”.

Meanwhile, several Danish cities, including the capital, Copenhagen, witnessed mass demonstrations rejecting repeated US demands to annex Greenland.

The protests centered around the US embassy in Copenhagen, where more than 800 people gathered, according to the Danish News Agency.

Protesters waved Greenlandic and Danish flags, as well as banners reading “Greenland isn’t for sale”.

In previous statements in March, Trump emphasized that Greenland, despite its autonomous status, remains part of the Danish kingdom, but asserted that the island would “one way or another” come under American control.

Since the start of his second term on January 20, Trump has made the annexation of Greenland a top priority on his political agenda, citing its strategic geographic location between Europe and North America, its importance to the US missile warning system, and its vast mineral wealth.

Internationally, Russia has repeatedly denied posing any threat to any country, but has warned of increased NATO military activity near its western borders.

Russian President Vladimir Putin affirmed his country’s neutrality on the Greenland issue, but at the same time stressed that Moscow wouldn’t allow anyone to infringe upon its sovereignty.

In the same context, China called on Western countries to stop “exaggerating” what it described as the “alleged Chinese threat,” stressing that these allegations are baseless.
