Trump discusses the course of negotiations with Hamas, negotiations with Iran, EU tariffs, and his position on the Russian president
US President Donald Trump said early Monday that he believes we have good news coming with Hamas regarding Gaza.
“We’ve spoken with Israel and we want to see if we can stop this whole situation as soon as possible,” he added.
US President Donald Trump on Sunday described the latest round of negotiations with Iran over its nuclear program as very good.
“We’ve made some real progress, some serious progress,” Trump told reporters on the tarmac at Morristown Airport in New Jersey before boarding Air Force One for Washington, following the fifth round of nuclear talks brokered by Oman.
“I think we could have some good news on the Iran front,” he added.
Trump also expressed his displeasure with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday after Russia launched a record-breaking drone attack on Ukraine, killing 13 people.
“I’m upset about what Putin is doing… He’s killing a lot of people, and I don’t know what’s wrong with him,” Trump said.
“I’ve known him for a long time… I’ve always gotten along with him, but he’s shooting missiles into cities and killing people, and I don’t like that at all”.
Trump also announced on Sunday that he would extend the suspension of tariffs imposed on the European Union until July 9, while trade negotiations between the two sides continue.
Trump added that he informed European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen during a very friendly call that he would agree to her request to extend the June 1 deadline for suspending tariffs, adding that negotiating teams will meet quickly to see if we can reach a solution.
