Trump directs the Secretaries of Homeland Security and Defense to take action to liberate Los Angeles from the migrant invasion
US President Donald Trump said he has ordered the Secretaries of Homeland Security, Defense, and the Attorney General to take all necessary measures to liberate Los Angeles from the migrant invasion.
“Los Angeles, once a great American city, has been invaded and occupied by illegal immigrants and criminals… Now, violent and unruly mobs are marching and attacking our federal agents in an attempt to stop the deportations,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social.
He added, “These lawless riots only strengthen our resolve… I direct Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, and Attorney General Pam Bondi, in coordination with all other relevant departments and agencies, to take all necessary actions to liberate Los Angeles from the immigrant invasion and put an end to these riots… Order will be restored, illegal immigrants will be expelled, and Los Angeles will be free… Thank you for your attention!”
Trump ordered the deployment of 2,000 National Guard members to Los Angeles to deal with unrest caused by raids targeting illegal immigrants.
“We’re making Los Angeles safer,” said Tom Homan, the Trump administration’s border official.
The California city witnessed major unrest for the second day in a row on Saturday, as residents of a predominantly Latino area clashed with federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.
Police used tear gas and batons to disperse crowds in the Paramount district.
Approximately 118 people were arrested in Los Angeles this week as a result of Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations, including 44 arrested on Friday.
