Tom Barrack: The Syrian President will Washington for the first time ever
US Special Envoy to Damascus, Tom Barrack, announced Saturday that Syrian President Ahmed al Sharaa will visit Washington on November 10 — marking the first time a Syrian head of state visits the White House.
According to reports, President Donald Trump is expected to meet with Sharaa during the visit.
Barrack added that a new round of US-mediated negotiations between Syria and Israel is planned to follow the talks in Washington.
He explained that the goal of the upcoming discussions is to establish a security agreement regarding the shared borders between the two countries before the end of the year.
The Syrian government hasn’t yet issued an official comment on Sharaa’s scheduled visit.
