The Ukrainian president calls on world leaders to stand in solidarity with Israel
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on world leaders on Saturday to show solidarity and unity in support of Israel and condemn the attack carried out by the Palestinian Hamas movement.
Zelensky, whose army has been fighting the Russian invasion for 19 months, said that Israel has every right just like Ukraine, to protect itself.
Zelensky added in his evening video address, “Let the value of human life and intolerance of terrorism be the principles that will unite the entire world in the end”.
Relations between Ukraine and Israel have been tensed since the start of the Russian invasion in February 2022.
While Israel has sent tons of humanitarian aid to Ukraine, Netanyahu has consistently refused to supply weapons to Kiev.
The Ukrainian army published a video on Saturday showing Ukrainian soldiers denouncing the Hamas attack and declaring support for Israel.
