The Turkish President comments on Syrian coastal violence

The Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed “Ankara’s strong condemnation of any terrorist attacks targeting Syria’s unity and social stability, stressing that attempts to ignite strife in the country won’t succeed”.
In his remarks at a press conference, Erdogan said, “Türkiye strongly condemns all attacks targeting Syria’s unity, stability and social security, as well as all acts of terrorism and intimidation”.
He added, “The situation on the Syrian coast has largely come under control thanks to the effective intervention of Syrian government forces, but the situation remains sensitive on the ground”.
Erdogan also stressed that Türkiye has taken the necessary measures to ensure that it’s not affected by any repercussions, calling on the Syrian authorities to take the necessary steps to calm the situation quickly.
Erdogan welcomed the tough statements made by the Syrian president, noting that they show moderation and a desire for calm, while affirming the determination to punish those who break the law.
Erdogan stressed that “whoever looks at Syria and focuses only on sects, doctrines, or ethnicities is ignoring the essence of things,” noting that Türkiye doesn’t attach any importance to ethnic or religious affiliations, whether in Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, or any other country in the region.
