The Syrian Defense announces the end of the military operation on the Syrian coast as the UN security Council rejecting the violence in the country

The Syrian Ministry of Defense announced, Monday, the end of military operations in the Syrian coastal region.
Colonel Hassan Abdul Ghani, spokesman for the Syrian Ministry of Defense, stated, “In commitment to the promise we made to our dear people since the launch of the second phase of operations, we announce, with the praise of God and the support of our heroic men, the achievement of all the objectives set for this phase”.
Abdul Ghani added, “Thanks to God, we were able to repel the attacks of the remnants of the former regime and its leaders, and we broke their element of surprise, and kept them away from vital facilities, and we secured most of the public roads that they used to target innocent civilians”.
The Syrian Ministry of Defense spokesman announced the end of military operations aimed at regaining control of the region, explaining that public institutions are now ready to resume their work and provide basic services, paving the way for life to return to normal and enhancing security and stability.
Abdul Ghani stressed that the security services will intensify their efforts in the coming period to ensure stability and protect the population, as new plans have been put in place to pursue the remnants of the former regime and prevent any future threats.
He added that the ongoing investigations will continue to uncover the circumstances of the events, verify the facts, and provide justice to those affected.
In a related context, Russia and the United States called for closed consultations with the UN Security Council, Monday, to discuss the situation in Syria.
Russia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzia, confirmed that Security Council members are united in rejecting the violence in Syria.
“There was a consensus among members during today’s discussions, as everyone, although not in one voice, stressed the rejection of the mass killings and violence that have taken place in Syria,” he said.
It’s noteworthy that the Syrian coast witnessed last Thursday violent clashes between Syrian security forces and opposition groups in the city of Jableh, parts of Latakia and mountainous areas in the provinces of Latakia and Tartous.
These clashes resulted in the deaths of hundreds of civilians, according to reports from activists who reported massacres in a number of villages, causing the deaths of many children, women and the elderly.
Meanwhile, a source from the Syrian Red Cross said that relief teams were unable to reach the area due to ongoing clashes, increasing the number of casualties.
